Nurturing top science talent
Science Olympiad New Zealand (SONZ) is a nationally recognised charitable organisation dedicated to advancing academic excellence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among secondary school students across Aotearoa. For over 30 years, SONZ has nurtured New Zealand’s top science talent through enrichment programmes in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, informatics, and geography.
Why Science Olympiad Matters
For many students – especially those from regional or underserved communities – Science Olympiad is their first real taste of what a science career could look like. It’s a transformational experience that connects learning to purpose and possibility.
